Man accused of abusing disabled man

A 42-year-old man, who authorities were told punched and kicked a disabled man because he was angry at the victim, was arrested late Monday night.

Christopher Shane Fulk was taken into custody by a Marion County sheriff's deputy in the 5400 block of Southeast 145th Street in Summerfield without incident at 11:55 p.m. and charged with crimes against person/abuse elderly or disabled adult without great harm.

Fulk was booked into the Marion County Jail and released at 7:52 a.m. Tuesday after posting a $2,000 bond. Fulk could not be reached for comment. The victim has limited mobility on the left side of his body.

According to Deputy Damon Baxley's report, the 50-year-old victim told neighbors that Fulk got mad at him for no reason and beat him.

The victim alleged that Fulk punched him in the face multiple times and, when he fell on the ground, kicked him in the stomach, back and chest.

The deputy noted that the right side of the victim's face was bruised and the left side of his face had minor scratches.

The victim told a deputy that he has known Fulk for about six months and Fulk is aware of his disabilities.
