East London experience series of pavement explosions

Mare Street in Hackney experience at least two explosions because of a faulty junction box underground.

Eyewitnesses said they heard two loud bangs outside Hackney Town Hall followed by flames erupting from the ground.

A safety cordon was put up and roads were closed off leaving people stranded as they tried to get into work.

UK GRANNY STOLE A MOBILITY SCOOTER FROM DISABLED OWNER

An elderly woman and her male accomplice stole a £1,000 electric scooter form its disable owner at the church. Sarah Dougall, 72 was in bible study class inside the church when the grand theft took place.
