Many people have started misusing the Facebook Livestream feature. More and more people are now livestreaming their own suicide. A teenage boy named Justin livestreamed his own suicide yesterday. He slit his wrist and joked about the video being the last video he will ever make as he bled to death. The video is hard to watch. Some of it was saved by people who watched it live. Mum who used plank to beat her son to death, arrested

Mrs. Bisola Olukoya has been arrested by officers of the Ogun State Police command, for reportedly beating her son Toheeb Olukoya, to death. It was gathered that the lady used a plank to beat her son, who slumped and died almost immediately. Upon realizing this, she connived with her husband and buried the boy, and fled.

However they got unlucky, as the incident which happened on March 17, at Onifade-Itele town of Ogun state, was reported by
eyewitnesses to detectives. Premium Times reports that the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed that the detectives traced and arrested at Iyana Ipaja in Lagos.

Two found guilty of killing Cynthia Osokogu

A Lagos State High Court in Igbosere on Thursday found Ezekiel Eloka and Echezona Nwabufor guilty of the murder of a postgraduate student, Cynthia Osokogu,
who they lured from Nasarawa to Lagos before strangling her to death at a hotel in Festac Town, Lagos, in 2012.

Justice Olabisi Akinlade declared that after carefully analysing the evidence presented before the court, testimonies of prosecution witnesses, and confessional statements the deceased made to the police, she was left with no doubt that the accused killed Ms. Osokogu.



She also found them guilty of the second charge of committing felony by stealing her Blackberry phone saying the prosecution has proved beyond reasonable doubt that the accused intended and in fact took the life of the deceased in the process of stealing her phone and belongings.

She also found the duo guilty of the first and third charge – conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to steal.

Ms. Osokogu who met Mr. Eloka on Facebook was lured to Lagos and murdered on July 22, 2012, at Cosmilla Hotel, Lakeview Estate, Festac Town.

Orji Osita, a pharmacist, was discharged of the charge of recklessness and negligence for selling prescription drugs without prescription which the accused used in drugging the deceased.

The court is still in session.

Five Nigerians killed in South Africa

The Nigeria Union in South Africa, on Tuesday said five Nigerians had been attacked in Polokwane, Limpopo Province of that country in renewed xenophobic attacks.

Mr Collin Mgbo, Secretary of the Union in the Province, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on telephone from Polokwane that three of the five Nigerians attacked were in critical condition in the hospital.

“I received a call that a Nigerian was attacked at Ivy Park in Polokwane on March 15. I got to the scene and saw that the Nigerian was almost dead, his house was looted and burnt”, he said.

Mgbo said another Nigerian was also attacked in the same neighbourhood same day and that while he got to the scene, the mob left the wounded man and descended on him.

“They left the wounded Nigerian and faced me. They destroyed my car and I managed to escape and ran to a police station”, he said.

The secretary added that three Nigerians, including the owner of a mechanic’s garage, were attacked at Moledji, near Polokwane .

“ Their shops and houses were looted, vandalised and destroyed. The local chapter of the union has reported these attacks to the South African police, Nigerian mission and national secretariat of our union.

“Our national secretariat is on top of the situation. As we speak, three Nigerians in the hospital are in critical condition and I do not know if they will survive because of the severity of the attack”, he said.



Mgbo urged the Federal Government to persuade its South African counterpart to ensure the safety of Nigerians in their country.

When contacted on phone, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Olusola Enikanolaye, said the ministry had not been briefed about the incident.

He, however, promised to get back to NAN after inquiry from the Nigerian High Commission in South Africa.

Similar, in February, property worth millions of dollars belonging to Nigerians, were destroyed.

The Federal Government later sent a delegation led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Geoffry Onyeama and his Interior counterpart, retired Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau to South Africa for discussion on curtailment of the attacks. (NAN)

Police accuse daughter's boyfriend of killing missing Florida woman

A Florida woman who was reported missing last week is dead and her daughter's boyfriend will be charged with her murder, police said Sunday.

Investigators said that 26-year-old Roy Nichols Jr. confessed to killing Tricia Freeman, 47, during an argument at Freeman's home in Palmetto Tuesday.

Palmetto Police Chief Scott Tyler told reporters that Nichols Jr. recounted how Freeman said something that "set him off." Tyler did not elaborate on how Freeman died.

Nichols Jr. and his girlfriend, Freeman's 21-year-old daughter Kayla Colyer, drove north after Freeman's death in her car. The vehicle was found Friday at a park in Ashland, Ky., where it had been abandoned.

Nichols Jr. and Colyer were apprehended Saturday at a truck stop in Cabell County, W.Va., when a clerk working at the store recognized them from a news broadcast and alerted authorities.



Nichols Jr. will face charges of second-degree murder in Freeman's death, while Colyer will be charged with accessory to murder after the fact.

Tyler said the pair told authorities where they dumped Freeman's body, but did not elaborate except to say it was somewhere in Florida.

schoolboy Quamari Barnes, 15, stabbed to death outside flagship London academy

A schoolboy was stabbed to death in front of “screaming” pupils outside the gates of a flagship London academy school.
The 15-year-old victim, named locally as Quamari Barnes, was attacked as he waited at a bus stop in Willesden at 3.30pm yesterday.

He fled back towards Capital City Academy collapsing yards from the gates of the school in Doyle Gardens, a leafy street of family homes.
He suffered multiple stab wounds.
Paramedics battled to save the boy’s life before he was rushed to hospital where he died later.

Herd of cows eat themselves to death

Half of a herd of cows ate to death after breaking out from their pen in Western France.

Farmer Anthony Vaillant failed to lock the door of a barn, which gave way for 46 cows to leave the barn.

The cows made their way to a food store at the farm near the town of Couëron, where whole of their winter rations was kept.

They ate a high energy supplement food which can be harmful if consumed in large quantities, and the cows proceeded to eat their way through an entire winter's worth of the food in one sitting. 

“It's like an overdose,” Mr Vaillant told local newspaper Ouest-France.

“If they are eaten in too big a quantity, these cereals stop the digestive rumen function of the cows. And when the stomach does not work the cow becomes intoxicated.”

Mr Vaillant then had to helplessly watch as his herd began to die, despite enlisting help from a vet. In total, 22 cows died from over-eating. The remaining 24 animals can no longer produce milk.
