Trump Tells African Leaders His Friends Go There to 'Get Rich.' Awkward Silence Follows

Western exploitation of Africa's resources is a sensitive topic given centuries of bloody colonial history

US. President Donald Trump was met with silence from African leaders Wednesday when he tried to congratulate them for the economic progress the continent has made.

“Africa has tremendous business potential. I’ve so many friends going to your countries, trying to get rich,” Trump told them at a luncheon Wednesday in New York, according to CNBC. “I congratulate you. They’re spending a lot of money,” he said.

Trump reportedly paused for laughter or applause, but none ensued.

The suggestion that wealthy Americans might be trying to enrich themselves in Africa would have been a sensitive one at the event, given that African labor and natural resources were subjected to centuries of European and American exploitation in the colonial era, including during the trans-Atlantic slave trade.

“For American firms it’s really become a place that they have to go — that they want to go,” Trump continued, noting that six of the world’s ten fastest-growing economies are in Africa.

Most U.S. ambassadorships to African nations remain unfilled at this point, CNBC reports, even though all Obama-era appointees were recalled prior to Trump’s inauguration in January. This means that a majority of countries in Africa cannot conduct diplomacy with the U.S. through an ambassador.

Trump also appeared to have referred to Namibia as “Nambia” in his speech, at one point saying that “Nambia’s health system is increasingly self-sufficient.” A transcript of the speech from the White House confirmed that Trump was indeed referring to Namibia.

The secret about Donald and Melania Trump Relationship

Despite recent rumours that President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump have been going through a rough patch, a close friend of the couple insists that this isn't the case.
In an interview with the Washington Post on Monday, Karen LeFrak - a longtime friend of the couple and wife of developer Richard LeFrak - was asked how Trump was adjusting to her new role as first lady, and how the change has affected her marriage, if at all.
"Mrs. Trump is enjoying her life and new role," she said, adding that "[she and her husband] are very happy! Their relationship is great."

"All these rabid rumours about her and their relationship are laughable and fictional," she continued.
LeFrak went on to insist that the first lady has been taking her time with "carving out an important role to support women and children" and "redecorating their residence in the White House," despite the fact she is still living in New York with her son, Barron, until the end of the school year.

"I guess I can't be doing so badly, because I'm president, and you're not," - President Trump tells reporter

President Donald Trump defended some of the most controversial claims of his young political career in a wide-ranging interview with Time magazine published Thursday, in which he offered a simple and absolute defense of his method.
He said; "I'm a very instinctual person, but my instinct turns out to be right. Hey, look, in the meantime, I guess I can't be doing so badly, because I'm President, and you're not," he told Time's Washington bureau chief, Michael Scherer.

Donald Trump causes Twitter meltdown among Americans after he tweets 'China should keep drones they stole from America'

U.S president elect, Donald Trump has caused some major 'meltdown' on Twitter after he took to his Twitter handle today to tweet that China shouldn't return drones they've stolen from America as America won't need them again.

Trump’s tweet accusing China of stealing U.S drones was issued shortly after China’s foreign ministry said it was negotiating with the US over a vehicle, a “glider” used to collect unclassified scientific data that they 'captured' in the South China Sea.

Americans, flooded Trump's timeline blasting and accusing him of trying to cause some sort of International warfare with China on social media even before he became president.
A Twitter user even advised him to take his hands off Twitter before he causes war with China, a world power in their own right.

Donald Trump’s star destroyed

Donald Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame has been destroyed with a pick-ax. The US Republican presidential candidate's star which was awarded to him in 2007 and located at 6801 Hollywood Blvd, was smashed up early today by one Jamie Otis, who took credit for the destruction. Otis posed as a construction worker to fool anyone walking past.
Smashing the embedded terrazzo and brass star to bits, he claims he intends to auction off the removed star to raise money for the women who have come forward to accuse Trump of sexually assaulting them over the decades. Los Angeles police are investigating the case.

There'll be World War III if Clinton is elected - Donald Trump warns

Donald Trump has warned of a World War if Hillary Clinton is elected as president and her policies on ISIS,and the Syrian conflict are implemented.

Democratic Party U.S Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton revealed during the last presidential election debate that the U.S will create no-fly zones in Syrian airspace in order to combat ISIS and also allow for peace and normality to return to the already war-torn Syria and it's citizens.

If a no-fly zone is implemented by the U.S on Syrian airspace and a Russian jet flies on the airspace, the U.S have the right to shoot it down, a move that could cause war between both nations and Trump on Tuesday warned that Hillary Clinton would surely cause a World War III if elected as president.

"What we should do is focus on ISIS. We should not be focusing on Syria," Trump told Reuters on Tuesday morning at his resort in Doral, Florida.

"You're going to end up in World War III over Syria if we listen to Hillary Clinton."

"You're not fighting Syria anymore, you're fighting Syria, Russia and Iran, all right? Russia is a nuclear country, but a country where the nukes work as opposed to other countries that talk," he said.

Trump also said Clinton's claim that he was Putin's 'puppet' in the last presidential election debate was a very naive one because anyone who becomes president will have to negotiate with Russia's president Putin in order to have World peace, but how do you do that 'when you've painted him badly?

"How is she going to go back and negotiate with this man who she has made to be so evil."

Mr Trump's warning of confrontation with Russia echoes concerns raised last month at a congressional hearing by the highest-ranking military officer in the US military.
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Marine Gen Joseph Dunford told lawmakers a "no-fly zone" in Syria could spell war with Russia.
"Right now, senator, for us to control all of the airspace in Syria it would require us to go to war, against Syria and Russia," Gen Dunford told the Senate Arms Services Committee.
"That's a pretty fundamental decision that certainly I'm not going to make."

The Clinton campaign on Tuesday evening pushed back against Trump's 'World War III rhetoric.
"National security experts on both sides of the aisle have denounced Donald Trump as dangerously ill-prepared and temperamentally unfit to serve as commander-in-chief," Clinton spokesman Jesse Lehrich said. "Once again, he is parroting Putin's talking points and playing to Americans' fears, all while refusing to lay out any plans of his own for defeating ISIS or alleviating humanitarian suffering in Syria. Moreover, this incendiary attack is aimed at a policy that his own running mate, Mike Pence, strongly supports."

Trump also said that the election can't be lost to Hillary if the Republican party had unity.

"If we had party unity, we couldn't lose this election to Hillary Clinton," he told Reuters.
"The people are very angry with the leadership of this party, because this is an election that we will win 100% if we had support from the top," he said.

"I think we're going to win it anyway."

Trump threatens to sue women accusing him(Video)

Donald Trump on Saturday vowed to sue the women who have come forward to level allegations of sexual misconduct against them.
Trump said at Gettysburg, Pa. “Every woman lied when they came forward to hurt my campaign" "Total fabrication, the events never happened - never. All of these liars will be sued after the election is over."
He also tied the women to an undercover video that showed Democratic operatives discussing how to get Trump supporters riled up at his rallies.
"Just like we found out about these paid violent protesters, it was probably the DNC and the Clinton campaign that put forward these liars with their fabricated stories," he said.
"But we'll find out about their involvement at a later date through litigation. And I look so forward to doing that."
Trump last week threatened to sue the New York Times for reporting the accounts of two of the nearly dozen women who have leveled allegations against him. His lawyers sent the Times a letter demanding that they retract their "libelous" article.
Trump has not yet filed the promised lawsuit against the Times. A campaign spokesman on Saturday
said Trump plans to sue the paper after the election, as he promised to do with his accusers Saturday.

Trump attacks the First Lady

Donald Trump has gone on the attack after a series of accusations were levelled against him that he made unwanted advances on women.
First Lady Michelle Obama has slammed Mr Trump's treatment of women, saying that his "obscene" comments had shaken her "to my core".
The Republican presidential candidate said on Thursday evening that he had "never met" the women who accused him of sexual assault and advances.

He told supporters in Ohio the accusations were "outright lies," and what had been described "had never happened". He also claimed the media had "slandered and lied about me" after earlier accusing the press of conspiring with Hillary Clinton against his White House bid. His running mate Mike Pence also blamed the media and Mrs Clinton for what he described as "a discussion of slander and lies".

It came as Mr Trump's wife Melania called portions of a People Magazine story alleging a sexual assault by her husband "false and completely fictionalised" and threatened to sue.
In his last rally of the day in Cincinnati, Mr Trump made no mention of the allegations as the crowd cheered wildly and booed reporters covering the event.
Criticism of Mr Trump started after a clip emerged, from 2005, in which the mogul  brags about women letting him kiss and grope them because he is famous, saying "when you're a star they let you do it".

Mr Trump said he was sorry "if anyone was offended" by the "locker room banter".
But more allegations have emerged in recent days, with  footage from 1992 featuring Mr Trump telling a young girl he would be dating her in 10 years .
Two other women say he touched them inappropriately.

Mrs Obama, speaking at a Mrs Clinton rally in New Hampshire, said the Republican's sexual comments should not be seen as "politics as usual", adding that they were not simply "lewd comments" and not just "locker room banter".
She continued: "This was a powerful individual speaking freely and openly about sexually predatory behaviour."

Mrs Obama said his behaviour sent a dangerous message to children and told the rally that the measure of any society is "how it treats its women and girls".
Saying it is not how someone who wants to be President behaves, she added that "strong men, men who are truly role models, do not need to put down women to make themselves feel powerful".
Her husband, Barack Obama, later said Republicans who appeared to be abandoning Mr Trump's bid for the White House don't deserve any credit for distancing themselves as they had stayed silent for too long.

Mr Trump offered no evidence discrediting the new reports except to ask why his accusers had waited years and then made their allegations less than a month before the election.

Trump acknowledges Obama was born in US

Donald Trump has finally acknowledged the fact that President Barack Obama was born in the United States.
Trump said at a campaign event in Washington “President Barack Obama was born in the United States, period."

Mr Trump also accused Hillary Clinton's team of starting the so-called "birther" campaign in 2008.
The "birther" movement had questioned Obama's citizenship and therefore his eligibility as president.
Mrs Clinton said Mr Trump had founded his campaign on "this outrageous lie".

Hillary Clinton's doctor releases new medical records, say her infection is non-contagious

Hillary Clinton's campaign team has released new medical records and information about the presidential candidate after the media worries over her health.
On Monday her campaign team said she was diagnosed with Pneumonia and now her personal doctor Dr. Lisa Bardack, who's also the chair of Internal Medicine at CareMount Medical in Mount Kisco, New York has released more information on her health following her decision  to take three days off the campaign trail.

'I evaluated Clinton at least four times this month -- including Wednesday -- and found that the Democratic nominee had a small right middle-lobe pneumonia.' Dr Bardack wrote in a letter released to the media. The remainder of her complete physical exam was normal and she is in excellent mental condition."

"My overall impression is that Mrs. Clinton has remained healthy and has not developed new medical conditions this year other than a sinus and ear infection and her recently diagnosed pneumonia, She is recovering well with antibiotics and rest. She continues to remain healthy and fit to serve as president of the United States."

Obama has once again blasted Donald Trump

U.S president Barack Obama has once again blasted Donald Trump while campaigning for Hillary Clinton who is recovering from pneumonia.

Obama attacked Donald Trump saying the Republican nominee “is not fit in any way, shape, or form to represent this country abroad or to be its commander-in-chief.”

“Hillary Clinton is steady and she is true. I need you to work as hard for Hillary as you did for me.” I believe there has never been a man or a woman who is more qualified to serve as our president,” Obama said to cheers in a rally at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

This is the guy you want to be championing working people?” a bemused Obama asked, joking that “the Donald” doesn’t want working people living in his condominiums or playing on his golf courses.

He spent most of his life staying as far away of working people as he could. And now this guy is going to be the champion for working people?”

Obama also took issue with Trump’s fondness for Russian President Vladimir Putin, who Trump’s praise for has evoked fear in his Republican colleagues.

“I have to do business with Putin,” Obama said. But I don’t go around saying that’s my role model.”

Obama said Trump’s claim that he would be a president for all is a joke and that he “wouldn’t let you all on his golf course.

''And now suddenly this guy is going to be your champion? Really? This is the guy you want to be championing working people?” Obama asked.

“This isn’t Abraham Lincoln’s Republican Party. This isn’t even the vision of freedom of Ronald Reagan. This is a dark vision,” Obama said.

Donald Trump describes 9/11

"Amazing!" That is the word Donald Trump used to describe the greatest tragedy to ever befall America. Yesterday, US commemorated the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attack. Amost 3,000 people died after four passenger planes were hijacked by Al Qaeda militants.

The first targets hit were the World Trade Centre's twin towers in New York. Both collapsed to the ground in a matter of seconds. Another commercial aircraft was flown into Pentagon near Washington, while passengers brought the fourth one down over Pennsylvania.
In an audio from 9/11 posted by Senior Entertainment Editor for the Daily Beast and Columbia Journal alum, Marlow Stern, Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump managed to make the national tragedy as usual, all about him.
When he was asked about potential damage to 40 Wall Street, his 71-story building that was positioned blocks away from the towers, he took the opportunity to share how "amazing" the news was:
"40 Wall Street actually was the second-tallest building in downtown Manhattan, and it was actually, before the World Trade Center, was the tallest. And then, when they built the World Trade Center, it became known as the second-tallest. And now it's the tallest"

Donald Trump, Perhaps Unwittingly, Exposes Paradox of Nuclear Arms

A deactivated Titan II intercontinental ballistic missile in a silo at the Titan Missile Museum, a preserved military complex near Tucson.

WASHINGTON — Donald J. Trump’s remarks on nuclear weapons have brought him, at times, to a question: Why should he be constrained from ever using them?
The question has, like so many of Mr. Trump’s comments, sent shock waves. But nuclear experts say it is shocking not just for the statements themselves, but for the uncomfortable truths they expose, perhaps unwittingly, about nuclear weapons.
In a March interview, Mr. Trump asked, “Somebody hits us within ISIS, you wouldn’t fight back with a nuke?” Then on Wednesday, Joe Scarborough, an MSNBC host, said an unidentified foreign policy adviser had told him that, in a briefing, Mr. Trump had asked three times, “If we have them, why can’t we use them?” Mr. Trump’s campaign has denied this.
Still, the controversy has highlighted a paradox that presidents have grappled with throughout the nuclear age: Nuclear weapons are deployed in great numbers, and at tremendous risk, for the purpose of never being used.
President Dwight D. Eisenhower, though at first a proponent of using nuclear weapons, eventually deemed them too destructive to consider. “You just can’t have this kind of war,” he said in 1957. “There aren’t enough bulldozers to scrape the bodies off the streets.”
Yet the United States and other nuclear powers have maintained and expanded their arsenals, enhancing their ability to launch nuclear strikes even as they have concluded that the logic of such a conflict makes using the weapons unthinkable.
This idea became known as mutually assured destruction, in which countries wield nuclear weapons primarily to deter other nuclear powers. But this deterrent works only if it is credible.
This leads to an odd dynamic: The more willing leaders are to use nuclear weapons, the less likely they will need to do so. Leaders heighten the risk — making the weapons faster, more powerful and harder to stop — so as to minimize it. They make the weapons more usable precisely because they are not.
