In an effort to kick against gender violence in Uganda, police officers in the country walked around the city in high heels.
It is believed that the Ugandan police officers have a reputation of being quite rough and tough so the gesture was to show their softer side and stand for the campaign against gender-based violence.
The campaign itself lasted for sixteen days as activists protested against gender-based violence. The
demonstration by the officers was carried out as a way to uniquely mark the end of the campaign.
The event was dubbed “Walk A Mile In Her Shoes” and it was organised by the Gender Ministry.
